“America’s Green Rubbish Team Installs BigBelly Trash Cans
to Curb Street-side Garbage in Brooklyn Neighborhood”
Brooklyn, New York – In keeping with the company’s environmentally responsible motto, 1-800 Mr. Rubbish™ installed several solar-powered BigBelly trash compactors along Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn with the backing of the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District.
As the official distributor of BigBelly Solar system, 1-800 Mr. Rubbish™ placed BigBelly units on the corners of Bergen Street, Union Street, Fourth Street, Ninth Street and 13th Street. The receptacles, which have a built-in compactor run on solar-powered sensors, can hold up to five times more trash than city garbage cans.
Designed to accommodate a maximum amount of waste, the BigBelly units can potentially lower the costs associated with trash collection and the associated vehicle activity (i.e., fuel costs, wear and tear, and carbon emissions) by up to 80 percent.
The BigBellys will help ease the burden of local business owners and resident who have been inconvenience in recent years by overflowing trash cans in their neighborhood, some times resulting in tickets from the Sanitation Department.
